EN In 2023, Brendan Malone, guitarist and lead vocalist of “Soul Fiends”, started the project with the purpose of sharing the songs that marked his youth.

Rubén Rionda, a young drummer but with a fresh and dynamic approach, joined as the first key member, laying the foundation for the group's sonic identity.

Later, RayMores, an experienced bassist with Panamanian roots, joined the project, whose entry completely transformed the overall sound of the band, adding a touch more funk, groove and energy to the compositions.

Finally, to achieve the desired sound, Helios Amor, an experienced jazz pianist, joined in, who has been one of the key pieces that has guided the band towards the realization of its musical vision.

This quartet has created a unique sound that has resonated with black music fans.

ES En 2023, Brendan Malone, guitarrista y voz principal de “Soul Fiends”, dio inicio al proyecto con el propósito de compartir las canciones que marcaron su juventud.

Rubén Rionda, un baterista joven pero con un enfoque fresco y dinámico, se unió como el primer miembro clave, sentando las bases de la identidad sonora del grupo.

Más tarde, se unió al proyecto RayMores, un experimentado bajista con raíces panameñas, cuya entrada transformó por completo el sonido general de la banda, añadiendo un toque más funk, groove y energía a las composiciones.

Brendan Malone *Guitar & Vocals

Brendan Malone, also known as "Big B", is a guitarist originally from Alphabet City, Manhattan. He began his musical training at the Neighborhood Music School and the Dwight St. Community Center in New Haven, Connecticut. At age 14, he began his professional career as a musician at New Haven Green's Summer Concert.

After graduating from high school, he became prominent as a street artist in New York City, performing at iconic venues. He has shared the stage with renowned musicians such as Odetta, Bill Dicey, Larry Johnson, Nat Riddles and Dr. John.

In the '90s, he founded the iconic funk and blues band Casa Mantequilla, along with saxophonist and vocalist Dr. Hawk Smith and drummer/percussionist and vocalist Mark Righter. His unique musical style left a lasting mark on the local scene.

Rubén Rionda *Drums

Born in Gijón in 1999, this talented musician immersed himself in music thanks to his pianist grandfather and his guitarist uncle. He began his percussion studies at the age of 8 and obtained the Elementary Grade at the Gijón Conservatory at the age of 12. He currently focuses on Jazz and is seeking to obtain the title of "Bacherlor Grade in Jazz Drums".

Despite his short career, he has collaborated with prominent Asturian artists, participating in recordings and performances.

Ray Mores *Bass

Raymores, also known as Iván Raymores, is a Panamanian musician, composer and producer with more than 20 years of experience. After a successful career in Panama and Spain, he currently resides in Gijón, Asturias. Under the name Raymores, he has released two albums and several singles.

In 2023, became bassist for Soul Fiends a project with which they plan to stand out in 2024.

Raymores has collaborated with various artists, including Iván Melón Lewis, Angela Carrasco and Brazilian Girls (NY). His versatility and experience consolidate him as a leading figure in the music scene.

Helios Amor *Organ & Keys

Brilliant, intuitive, in love with Fender Rhodes and lover of the MPC, Helios Amor is an indispensable figure when it comes to talking about the socio-musical movement of the city of Gijón.

Since the mid-90s, where labels such as Relief, M-Plant, Cajual, Maurizio and KDJ were key pieces in his mixes, until today, his passion for music has led him to delve into genres such as hip -hop, broken beats, Brazilian music, Afro-Cuban, Latin-jazz, funk, disco and house, forming the basis of his musical preferences today.

In addition to being an professional keyboard player, having performed mixing sessions for different national jazz bands and having participated as a DJ in different groups, Helios is characterized by his spontaneity behind the decks where he is, without a doubt, a true communicator.
